Welcome Text
Welcome to SusMax

An initiative funded by the Max Planck Society, focused on sustainable materials for a circular economy and beyond.

Our big goal is to build a strong network of researchers who care about sustainable materials. We want to explore a key question together: How can we innovate materials with sustainable solutions?

With SusMax, we aim to boost activity in the Max Planck Society in the context of material science and society. Our big goal is to build a strong network of researchers who care about sustainable materials. We want to explore a key question together: How can we innovate materials with sustainable solutions?

SusMax is more than just a project—it’s a call to action. We encourage scientists to “think big”, to break out of disciplinary silos, and to develop ideas with real-world impact. Whether it’s creating new biobased materials, designing low-energy production methods, or rethinking materials using circular design, the message is:

Let’s make an impact.
