Postdoctoral Researcher @ Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society

Phil Preikschas is a chemist by training, holding an MSc from the Technische Universität Berlin. He pursued his PhD studies on heterogeneous catalysis at BasCat, a joint laboratory of BASF and the Cluster of Excellence UniCat in Berlin, focusing on nanostructured supported catalysts and operando spectroscopy. He then joined ETH Zurich as a postdoctoral researcher, expanding into electrocatalysis, automation of catalytic testing units, and data science. Phil is now at the Department of Interface Science at the Fritz Haber Institute, where he focuses on thermal catalysis and automation across reactions such as C1 chemistry, carbonylations, and selective hydrogenations, targeting liquid energy carriers from renewable resources.
