Dr. M. Ali Abbasi-Vineh

Postdoctoral Researcher @ MPI of Molecular Plant Physiology, Department of Organelle Biology, Biotechnology and Molecular Ecophysiology

Mohammad Ali Abbasi-Vineh is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Organelle Biology, Biotechnology, and Molecular Ecophysiology at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology. His research focuses on the biotechnological applications of microalgae. He works with multiple species of these photosynthetic microorganisms, with a particular focus on the expression of heterologous proteins in newly identified, high-potential microalgal species and the development of efficient expression systems for emerging microalgal species as sustainable biotechnological platforms. In addition, his research aims to advance the understanding of the biology, physiology, and molecular mechanisms that govern the growth and productivity of these unicellular organisms under industrial cultivation conditions. His work seeks to expand the use of microalgae as sustainable platforms for biotechnology while contributing to a deeper understanding of their fundamental biology.
