Postdoctoral Researcher @ MPI of Colloids and Interfaces, Department of Biomolecular Systems

Francesco Palmieri is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Biomolecular Systems at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces. His postdoctoral research focuses on enzymatic ligation of oligo and polysaccharides, with a particular interest in enzymatic polymerization of building mono and oligosaccharides obtained via renewable sources. His PhD research was performed at Utrecht University, and it was centered on the chemoenzymatic synthesis of complex carbohydrates and the design and synthesis of carbohydrate-based biomaterials. Francesco holds a BSc in Chemistry and an MSc in Chemical Science from Federico II University, Naples. Her research interests include organic synthesis, NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, biocatalysis, protein expression and isolation, and biomaterials design and synthesis.
