Dr. Mina Aleksanyan

Postdoctoral Researcher @ MPI of Colloids and Interfaces, Biomaterials Department

Mina Aleksanyan is a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Dr. Shahrouz Amini at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Potsdam (MPIKG), Germany. Her project translates natural bioceramic growth and remodeling strategies into scalable design principles to fabricate energy-efficient, expandable 3D engineering ceramics, where she characterizes bioceramic and biomineralized materials using optical and electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, micro-CT and tensile testing.

She completed her PhD in Biochemistry (summa cum laude) at Freie Universität Berlin, carried out in Dr. Rumiana Dimova’s biophysics lab at MPIKG and supported by a fellowship of the International Max Planck Research School on Multiscale Bio-Systems. Her doctoral work focused on photomanipulation of biomimetic materials built from proteins, lipids, cell-derived vesicles, dendrimersomes and protein condensates, with controllable mechanical properties and molecular transport.

She holds an MSc in Chemistry from Freie Universität Berlin and a BSc in Chemistry with honors from Bogazici University, and conducted research at the University of Cambridge as an Erasmus+ scholar. To date, Mina has authored 12 peer-reviewed publications, presented her scientific projects at more than 20 international conferences and received four scientific awards.

Alongside her research, she volunteers on the SusMax Scientific Committee contributing to the organization of scientific events and networking activities across the SusMax consortium.
