Shyam Parshotam is currently a postdoctoral fellow in Prof. Mischa Bonn’s group at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research. He received his Ph.D. in 2023 from the University of Alberta under the guidance of Prof. Juli Gibbs and Prof. Alex Brown. Following this, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship focused on developing a helium nanodroplet isolation spectrometer (HENDI) in the groups of Prof. Yunjie Xu and Prof. Wolfgang Jäger. His current research focuses on the development and utilization of spectrometers based on surface-sensitive nonlinear optics to study the interactions of water at solid-liquid interfaces.
